About Us

The Square Foot Theatre develops the talent of children and adults in a nurturing environment, bringing quality theatre to our community.

Our theatre is made up of performers and viewers of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. We treasure these "square feet" who come together to form and enrich our community. Whether you are a performer or an enthusiast, you are welcome here.

Producing 8–10 performances each season, professional directors, choreographers, and artists provide a hands-on experience in musical theatre for actors of all ages and backgrounds. The Square Foot Theatre Company also brings live theatre experiences into local schools through Educational Outreach Programs.

We present a broad range of musical theatre presentations of the highest quality. In mixed-age productions, young performers work with experienced adults. Each season also features a college intensive program, a high school production, and shows with adult casts—all designed to entertain, inspire, and delight.

The Square Foot Theatre Company was founded in 2007 by Jared Andrew Brown (Executive Director) and Patrick Laffin (Director of Education), with the help of their headlining sponsor, the Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation. The Square Foot Theatre officially became a not-for-profit company in 2013. Two years later it moved into its current venue in Wallingford, Connecticut, featuring an intimate theatre experience with cabaret-style seating. Now in its 11th season, The Square Foot Theatre has produced more than 60 shows, cast more than 950 actors, and hosted more than 25,000 patrons

The Square Foot Theatre is a not-for-profit arts organization and depends on grants and donations to fulfill its mission. Your generous contribution enables us to bring quality theatre to the community and to enrich the lives of patrons and performers alike.
